Building confidence: Get comfortable with the hoop, build confidence in yourself, and explore a different side of yourself through movement.
Learning foundational skills: Practice basic grips, knee hooks, introductory positions, and safe ways to get into and out of the hoop, with slower instruction and extra time to repeat.
Finding your flow: Explore movement on, around, and beneath the hoop while developing body awareness and coordination.
Developing strength: Learn how to engage your shoulders and body to gradually practice supporting your weight through foundational exercises.
Learning the language: Get familiar with the parts of the hoop and common movement names so you can follow cues with greater confidence.
Explore aerial hoop at a slower pace, with a focus on building confidence with the hoop and in yourself. You’ll work on foundational movements used in Beginner Aerial Hoop, with step-by-step instruction and extra time for explanation, repetition, and questions. Through movement, you’ll have time to express yourself and discover a different side of yourself.
You’ll share a hoop, allowing time for guided practice, rest, and observing movements between turns. Practice may include different hand grips, single knee hooks, introductory mounts, seated positions, and controlled returns to the floor, with options suited to your experience and comfort.
While not every skill will be covered in each class, every session helps you develop body awareness, coordination, strength, and flow. You’ll still get a taste of the aerial “pressure,” with the goal of leaving empowered and more comfortable participating in Beginner Aerial Hoop, where instruction moves a bit faster.
