May 2025 Student of the Month: rose

When did you start your pole journey?

Spring 2023.

Why did you decide to try pole classes at Pole Pressure?

I did circus flow arts and fire spinning in college, and I loved being able to express myself through movement, so when I graduated and moved to DC I decided I wanted to try aerial arts. Now I have been taking classes at Pole Pressure for about 1.5 years!

What do you love most about pole classes at Pole Pressure?

I love how supportive the community is, and I love being able to express myself through movement. I feel like I accomplish something new every class, and I always leave feeling excited and energized!

If you could train with any of your pole idols, who would it be and why?

I don’t know many aerial artists, but I follow Lea Toran Jenner on TikTok and she is a circus artist whose work ethic and positive attitude I admire.

What motivates you to train?

I set a lot of process-oriented goals for myself, and I love learning new things along the way. The feeling of accomplishment I get when I finally get a spin down that I’ve been working on for months is super motivating for me, and thinking about my progress helps me stay positive when I’m feeling stuck.

What are some of your goals for this year?

I recently got my invert on one side, so I definitely want to get my invert on my other side and make both more consistent. I would also love to do more spins from a climb and link more spins together without touching the ground in between.

Why do you love Pole Pressure?

I love the supportive community at pole pressure! All the instructors are so encouraging, and I always feel motivated by the kindness and positivity of the others in my classes.
