Here are the 11 things you need to know about participating in the Pole Pressure world Pride Float
Show up in your Pole Pressure Gear (shorts, leggings, and/or booty shorts). We are gifting you 1 special edition pride 2024 shirt as a thank you for being apart of the fun. You must be present at the parade to receive it for free. Want an extra one and/or can’t make it to the parade? You can purchase online or in-studio for $25 beginning Sunday 6.8.25
Wear comfortable shoes as it is a 1.8 mile course that will take us about 50 minutes to complete it is NOT recommend you wear your POLE HEELS/BOOTS.
The Parade route will begin at 14th Street at T Street NW and finish at Pennsylvania Avenue at 9th Street NW.
Arrive in the Purple - 15 (Enter from Rhode Island Ave & 15th St NW) Parade Staging Time: 12:15PM. Expect delays on the Metro please plan accordingly, don't let metro make you miss the parade.
Yes the parade STARTS at 2pm but it WILL take some time for us to make our entrance onto the parade route. Once in the Purple - 15 (Enter from Rhode Island Ave & 15th St NW) Parade Staging Time: 12:15PM. we will have to wait until our float is called which can be an hour or longer so please be patient as we wait.
Streets leading into and around DC will close off to vehicle traffic EARLY. Review road closures. If you are driving park your car at the end of the route Pennsylvania Avenue at 9th Street NW so you don't have to walk all the way back to get your car.
Bring water, slather on that sunscreen, and toss a rain poncho in your bag—rain is in the forecast!
(I’ll have extras of all three, but don’t count on me to keep you hydrated and dry 😘) I’m working on a plan to keep the poles and performers covered—think canopy or tarp—but don’t show up thirsty or unprotected. It’s going to be HOT and WET—just how we like it. Come prepared. 😏☀️🌧️
There will be 2 stage poles on our trailer hitch so feel free to alternate on and off with others. Do not feel any pressure to do any crazy trixs! Crowds go WILD for body rolls and pole sits. Normally grip doesn't hold very well in the heat so just be mindful.
Speaking of trixs! I know you all will be displaying your best ones and booty shakes along the entire route, but at the following stops (the announcement stand at the beginning of the parade and the review stand located HERE) we really need you to WOW the crowd and ramp up the energy at these particular sections.
Have fun. Any issues or can’t find us call/text 202-998-4858. This is THE largest Gay Pride Parades in the WORLD so put on your best smile and shortest booty shorts. We are the only pole studio to participate so we got to represent.
Lastly, but MOST IMPORTANT! Please keep in mind that the first Pride wasn’t a parade but “equal parts celebration, protest, and community-building” I love this article “Dear Straight Allies: Please Don't Come to Pride Until You Understand These 6 Things”
