When did you start your pole journey with classes at Pole Pressure?

October 2020

Why did you decide to try pole dancing at Pole Pressure?

I have always wanted to try pole dancing, so when my friend, Nat, mentioned she did too we both booked our first Pole Pressure classes together and the rest is history! I grew up dancing (hip hop, contemporary, and jazz), but I was never that good in any of them :(. I would forget moves and fail to count beats in group choreography, but I always enjoyed moving. When I found pole dancing, it was literally everything I could have ever wanted - a perfect harmony of strength, flexibility, and beauty (without having to count beats haha).

What do you love most about pole dancing at Pole Pressure?

I love the wide range of options for classes at Pole Pressure, be it tricks, sensuality, hoop, or pole. To me, Pole Pressure is the one-stop-shop for all my pole/aerialist needs! It has classes to accommodate all skill levels as well as class types for whatever you want to work on. I love being able to switch around between my Sensual Intermediate Friday classes, to my Intermediate/Advanced Saturday classes, and then hopping on a Hoop on Sundays. The classes are also well planned for people on the 9-5 grind like me, so I won't have to feel FOMO that I can't take the classes I want because of my schedule. I also appreciate how all the instructors are always patient, encouraging, and accommodating. Pole is a scary sport, and it is always nice to know that if I fail at one thing, I can always choose to modify it thanks to options taught by my Instructor.

Why do you love Pole Pressure?

I love Pole Pressure because of their amazing instructors and community camaraderie. To name a few instructors who have changed my life, Francesca was my first ever Instructor for both pole dancing and aerial hoop, and she is such a kind and electric soul to learn from. Keabra was my first ever Twerk Instructor and the only one who can get me up and going on a weekend morning and challenge my tiny ass beyond her comfort zone. I also love meeting other pole sisters, learning what they do, their pole journey, and I am so happy this art brought us all together.

What are some of your goals for this year?

My goals for the remainder of 2021 is to solidify my shoulder mount and ayesha (I can only hold it for a few seconds right now but we're getting there!), get my front splits, and smoothen up my sensuality in pole.

If you could train with any of your pole idols, who would it be and why?

If I could train with anyone, I would love to train with Ashley Fox! She is everything I aspire to be in my pole goals. Her strength, agility, and creativity always leave my jaw on the floor. I would love to learn her conditioning and stretch routine, as well as how she comes up with all her crazy power moves and weaves them all together so seamlessly.

What motivates you to train?

My pole community and personal fitness goals motivate me to train. My pole sisters are always there to challenge me and keep me accountable if I am slacking. Everyone's passion to progress in pole inspires me to keep pushing. Personally, I aspire to one day teach and/or compete in pole and am determined to put in the work to get to where I want to be.
